Stone has been used in construction for thousands of years because nothing else looks this good or lasts this long. We work with flagstone, fieldstone, limestone, and natural boulders to create walkways, steps, and walls with real character — the kind that age beautifully.
Every piece of stone Bob lays is set by hand. That means fitting each stone to its neighbors, dry-laying the pattern before any mortar is touched, and making sure the finished surface walks flat and reads natural. Cheap stonework gives itself away in a season. Done right, it looks better in 20 years than it did the day it was finished.
Bob has been doing masonry and hardscaping work for over two decades across Sister Lakes, MI and the Palos Heights, IL area. He pulls his stone from regional yards he trusts, sets a proper compacted base, and uses the right binder for the job — polymeric sand, mortar bed, or dry-laid sand-set depending on what the project calls for.
Whether you're after a flagstone path winding through the garden, a stone staircase down to the lake, or a retaining wall that needs to hold a slope and look like it's always been there — that's the work Bob loves most. Call (708) 549-3180 for a free estimate.
